Dad is fifty! Despite all protest, Mom threw him a 50th birthday party in our backyard. She invited the whole neighborhood, and then some. Lucky for Dad it was a holiday weekend, so about half of the people were out of town. Mom decked out the backyard with balloons, posters, and a great big yellow "happy 50th birthday" banner. She also hung a big banner on the garage saying "look who's fifty" with arrows pointing to pictures of Dad when he was little. An "over the hill" carrot cake was served. (even though I think Dad went over the hill a least 5 years ago:)All in all I think he had a good time and enjoyed visting with some of his friends. Happy Birthday Dad!!
